Join us in a new Houdini tutorial: "Icebreaker FX in Houdini," led by Matthieu Pujol. Within this 3 hour tutorial, we'll delve into creating an ice breaking setup using vellum grains.
We'll provide a boat model and textures that we'll use to drive our collisions. You'll learn how to quickly setup a base simulation and then to dive deeper into setting up a proper network of constraints to achieve a desired look. We'll demonstrate how to efficiently create an artist friendly setup to better adress any potential retakes a client could have in a professional environment. By the end you should be able to art direct the simulation on your own and explore a various range of looks for the fracture. On top of that, we'll add a little advection to the mix using a flip simulation showing you how to blend various elements together so that they coexist seamlessly in your shots. The texturing of the boat was done by Valentine Baillon.
